There are two ways to drive traffic to your website: free traffic and paid traffic.


Traffic is useless when you're unable to target your audience. Talk about what your typical customer would buy. Don't try to please the whole world. That's a lot of waste energy.

HOW TO WRITE SALES COPY

    If you want to write your own sales letters, pages and ads, then you'd probably want your copy to actually convert readers into buyers. Understanding the psychology of sales could really help you improve conversions. Copywriting is all about influencing the decision making unit: the readers mind.


    All professional marketers use a model to guide readers and influence this decision making process. The AIDA model can be used to structure your copy writing. The A.I.D.A. Marketing Model has proven to work for many marketers since it was developed over a 100 years ago. Here's a short version.​​​​​​​

      The letters in the AIDA model stand for Attention, Interest, Desire and Action. It was created as a reference for marketers to organize their sales letters, with the objective to increase sales. If utilized properly readers will be lead through the process of decision making, while the right emotions are triggered.


      You only have to divide your sales letter (sales video, optin page etc.) into the four different sections mentioned in the model. Just fill the four sections with corresponding text, images or video. Keep the order of appearence in tact, because this is essential for a smooth walk through the process of buying your product. Good luck!

        1.  ATTENTION

        All your sales letters should start with an effort to get the attention of readers (e.g. a picture or headline). It's most effective if you appeal to a) the feeling of actually having your product, b) the feeling of lack, c) the feeling of a problem solved, etc. As long as the triggered emotion is logically associated with one of the above, you'll be fine.

        ​​​​​​​Also consider:

        - What problem will be solved when someone buys your product?

        - What emotions are related to the problem you want to solve?​​​​​​​


        2. INTEREST

        After being emotionally triggered, the reader needs to be re-assured, comforted perhaps. The next step is to tell about the positive aspects of your product and get your readers interested in your solution.​​​​​​​

        3. DESIRE

        Since the person is still reading, you may assume that he or she is actually interested. Unfortunately, people who need your product may not want to buy it at all. Therefor you need to transform interest into a desire to buy. Often used emotions are: the sence of urgency, immense value or the feeling of belonging to a group. Offering guarantees and testimonials are also effective ways to make the reader comfortable with buying your product.


        4. ACTION

        If you take the previous steps, but neglect to give readers directions to your offer (sales page, website, social media, etc.), then you just can't make sales! So be reminded to always leave directions to your business in all your communications.

        Eventhough it isn't necessary to have a website to promote products, I highly recommend that you use one (or more). If you are able to create and change your websites and pages at will, you'll increase your successes. It gives you the opportunity to easily test and tweak your promotions to get the best results. Sometimes changing a font or color can boost your conversions.

        Website creation is a process that starts with an idea in our mind and is supposed to end in a proud feeling. Doing things yourself can give you great feeling. A feeling of fullfillment.

        After you've created your website, sales page, social page or blog, you can't publish it and then wait and see what happens next. You still need people to actually see your offer. You need visitors.

Talk to that person in your communications.
